Firefox 2 to Firefox 3

I am using Firefox 2. I think I will change fully to Firefox 3. There are issues...

I have a huge browser history which I have been keeping for a long time using FEBE (extension). The problem is sometimes when machine gets reset while Firefox is running, the whole history is lost. So I need to always keep FEBE at reach so that I can restore history.

So...
- I need a way to first move my browser history to Firefox 3.
- I need some way to restore them when they get lost. FEBE is not yet released for Firefox 3.

I have got a way to migrate my Bookmarks, so that is ok.

So... come on... ideas...

There is a tool called Google Browser Sync - it lets you synchronise not only your bookmarks, but visited URLs, passwords and history across all of the browsers you install it on.

But according to this forum, it is not yet released for Firefox 3.

There is a new project from Mozilla itself called Weave which does almost the same thing (and more!). Check this post...

But still... no idea how to migrate my history from Firefox 2 to 3.

Your history (as well as bookmarks, cookies, passwords, search plugins, and preferences) will automatically migrate when you upgrade from Fx 2 to 3. I have done it many times on different machines. As long as you are not doing anything with multiple profiles or non-default directories, the standard upgrade method should work just fine.

Hurray!!! I have done it... And it works :D

Installed Firefox Release Candidate latest.

Thanks to shadoefax : I just installed to the original 2 location without changing anything. It took all my bookmarks and history and even form fill data :)

Thanks to anoop : I got FEBE and it is working fine...

Thus my Firefox 3 is up and running :)
