Unlock a PC on Windiows XP ???

You may be wondering what this post is about.

You know how to unlock Windows XP. Ctrl + Alt + Enter. And enter the password. Straight forward, isn't it?

Do you know any other way to Unlock it? No, then there is a way :)

You can use 'LockWorkstation' entry in user32.dll to lock the computer. But there is no 'UnlockWorkstation" entry!!!

There is a small program you can use to do it...

BTW, why do you need to unlock it anyways? There will be situations in which you need to schedule tasks, which may involve sending keystrokes to various applications. SendKeys in vbs wont work for a locked PC. (You can use AutoIt script for sending keystrokes and it works too!!!).

Still, it is a good thing if you can remotely unlock the PC, isn't it? AND VERY DANGEROUS ALSO !!!

Here is how...

There is the tool called Logon.exe here...

It can unlock. You can schedule it to run before the programs which needs SendKeys. I tried giving it directly in Scheduler, but it failed to start.

I made it work though... I wrote a batch script to execute the command and called the batch script from scheduler. IT WORKS!!!

RunWait(@COMSPEC & " /c C:\logon.exe -u family -p 123 -k N C")

This will make Logon.exe work from AutoIt script.. the problem i have now is when the computer is locked from Network i mean when someone connect to RemoteDesktop and disconnect then the Script don´t work...
