Most of us have come across a point in time, where we have just executed
rm
and is regretting it. Coz, there is no way (no direct way to be exact) we can recover a deleted file in Linux.
Sad, isn't it? Hey Linus, why isn't there a undelete (recover) command in Linux?
But... there are lot of hacks available using different methods to recover files. Honestly, I have never recovered a file :D
Today, I came across this post in TechnoSNACK. It explains a method using Grep and Vim to recover a deleted file in Ext3. You can try it out sometime...
